From humble beginnings to the world leading BBQ powerhouse that is Weber-Stephens Products, Founder George Stephen Snr. effectively changed garden barbecuing across the globe with his original Kettle BBQ. This BBQ, cut from a metal buoy at the metalworks that George worked at post WWII, was an absolute game changer. With its unconventional styling at the time, its performance quickly solidified the idea in the minds of Georges family and friends, all wanting one. George, with his entrepreneurial spirit quickly saw what he had developed and set up shop and before long, was able to buy the Weber Brothers Metalworks and the rest as they say is history!

Innovation. Thats the name of the game for Weber. After developing the first Kettle BBQ. George's passion for barbecuing was as high as ever and he sought ways to improve the experience of barbecuing. In the 1980s, he found that angled metal bars distributed heat more evenly, and when the Genesis Gas BBQ was introduced, it changed the design of gas BBQs forever. Sadly, George Stephen Snr. passed away in 1993, but the people of America have never forgotten that it was his simple invention that changed the way they cooked outdoors. Through his amazing vision, he took a basic metal bowl and continued to transform it and re-invent it into the Weber barbecues we use today.
