The Best of British Made Stoves.
Charnwood Stoves are renowned for their durability, efficiency, and innovative design. Manufactured by A J Wells & Sons Ltd, a British company founded in 1972, Charnwood Stoves represents the pinnacle of wood-burning and multifuel stove design. As the oldest British manufacturer of wood-burning stoves, the company is still run by the second and third generations of the Wells family, ensuring a legacy of quality and craftsmanship.
The story of Charnwood began in 1972 when Alfred Wells and two of his sons established a small engineering business in Niton on the Isle of Wight. Over the past four decades, Charnwood has grown from a modest 1,500-square-foot factory to a sprawling 50,000-square-foot facility.
Charnwood offers an extensive range of wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves that cater to virtually every home heating requirement. Their collection includes both contemporary and traditional styles, all incorporating the latest clean burn technology. Every stove meets the EcoDesign Ready requirements, and nearly all are DEFRA exempt, making them safe for use in smoke control areas.
Charnwood’s stoves combine functionality with aesthetics, adding elegance to any home. The company’s commitment to quality and innovation is evident in their unique BLU burning technology, which reduces particle emissions and improves efficiency. Many Charnwood stoves are certified by ClearSkies, an independent emissions and energy performance certification mark for stoves.
