OFYR is the creation of Hans Goossens, a Dutch entrepreneur and design guru with a passion for outdoor living and entertaining. After a career in investment management and luxury goods retail, Hans was looking forward to retirement. Having a keen interest in outdoor dining, he started to look for a high performance grill with an artistic flare but he found nothing on the market that really met his criteria and this is when he set out to design something himself. OFYR was the creation Hans came up with, a unique cone design built from rugged Corten steel, which with time will create a beautiful weathered look. Launched in the Netherlands in 2015, OFYR is now sold in 60 countries and is supported by a team that are as passionate about the product as the creator himself.
OFYR is already on its way to becoming a design icon as well as cementing itself into a wide variety of clientele including professional chefs, event caterers and families. The key to OFYR’s multi-functional appeal is in the simple design and the quality of the products used to make it. Corten steel is strong and very durable, it can be left outside in all weathers and requires very little maintenance. Not only can it be used to cook on, the OFYR heats up rapidly, radiating heat over an area of several metres, meaning it can also be used as a social focal point to keep warm on those chilly evenings. The OFYR production site has the most up to date machinery and technology on offer with around 60 people working to master the many different techniques required to manufacture these beautiful pieces. We are as passionate about OFYR as Hans and we hope you will be too.
