Large Plate Setter

Nothing will contribute greater versatility to your cooking repertoire than adding a Plate Setter to your EGG. It provides a heat barrier between the charcoal and the food, changing your EGG from direct cooking (normal grilling) to cooking with indirect heat for baking, roasting and slow cooking. The three-legged design of the Plate Setter allows heat to circulate around the EGG, like a convection oven, whilst preventing the direct heat of the fire from reaching the food. The Plate Setter can be used in two modes: with the legs down and a Baking Stone on top, or with the legs up and a stainless steel grid on top for roasting or slow cooking.

No matter the method, food will not dry out thanks to the unique design of the Egg which locks moisture in and keeps it circulating around the food. The Big Green Egg is made using high-tech ceramics developed for NASA which insulate to retain heat and moisture in a way never achieved on normal BBQs. The surface has an enamel coating which will not rust and protects the EGG from the elements - it can be left outside and cooked on all year round, come rain or snow! The surface also stays cooler than metal grills which makes it safer around children. How to use the EGG

The Big Green Egg is designed to be left with the lid closed while cooking which makes it much easier for you to relax and enjoy the experience of barbecuing without constantly turning and tending. The BBQ lights quickly, without lighter fluid, and can be ready to cook within 15 minutes. It is also an incredibly fuel efficient way to barbecue so there is no need to add more charcoal whilst cooking.

Big Green Eggs are designed to run on natural lump charcoal which burns hotter and with fewer impurities than briquettes and doesnt contain chemicals or fillers. Never use briquettes or lighter fluid in the Big Green Egg because their chemicals can be absorbed by the EGG and transfer these unnatural flavours into your food. Do not burn wood on your EGG.

Burping the EGG is an important technique which helps prevent flashbacks and potential burns, particularly when cooking at high temperatures. Lift the lid about 2 inches and bounce it up and down slightly for a few seconds, allowing the rush of oxygen to burn safely before opening the lid fully.

When you have finished cooking replace the dual-function metal top with the ceramic snuffer cap and close the bottom vents to put out the flames. The unburned charcoal can then be used the next time you cook. Items which are not protected by the durable enamel should be kept out of the elements - keep internal components inside the EGG and store the dual-function metal top internally to protect it from rusting when the EGG is not in use.

Delivery Information

Items/carts over £250 are free shipping across mainland UK (Not including N. Ireland). Scottish Highlands postcodes KW, AB, PH, PW, IV and HS and islands (Man, Wight, Orkneys etc.) may be subject to a delivery surcharge. A delivery cost, where applicable, is calculated at the checkout based on your location and size/weight of the product. Bell use specialised courier networks CSM for smaller parcels and PALL-EX for heavy/large palletised goods such as fires and baths.

Please ensure that the access available to your property is suitable. Do not forget to consider the following factors that may prevent us from completing a standard delivery: parking restrictions; delivery vehicle size restrictions; restricted access into property due to the size of the ground floor entrance; restricted access within the property to the intended delivery location. Such factors may require alternative delivery methods for which, in most cases, there is an additional charge. You are able to make mention of any specifics regarding delivery in the customer comments section during checkout.

For larger, palletised items the delivery service is kerbside only. Please make sure you have made adequate arrangements to receive the product. The delivery person may be able to leave your product in a garage or garden if access allows. A signature will be required on receipt of goods, if this can not be obtained then this will result in a failed delivery and an additional charge will be applied for a re-delivery. Delivery Time-scales

Most of our orders are dispatched from our Northampton warehouse but some items are delivered directly by the manufacturer; either way you will be contacted directly by a member of our team or of the manufacturer to arrange a convenient delivery date (applicable to large and/or palletised items).

Many of our products are in stock at our warehouse but some need to be ordered from our suppliers; you can usually expect to receive your order in 7-10 working days but some bespoke products and out of stock items may take longer to arrive. If you have particular delivery requirements please call 01604 777504 to discuss them. As well as being able to fast-track some orders we are also able to keep orders on hold if you want to delay delivery until a more convenient time.

Please note: Your order will only be dispatched when all items included in the order are available. Delivery hours are between 10am and 5pm Monday to Friday. The carrier shall be relieved of its obligation to perform the contract to the extent that the performance is prevented by failure of the customer, fire, weather conditions, industrial dispute, labour disturbance or cause beyond the reasonable control of the carrier.

Click and Collect

For customers who are able to visit our showroom in Northampton we offer a free collection service. If you would prefer to collect your order please select “Click and Collect" at the checkout; collection and delivery options will appear after you input your billing address. Once your order has been placed we will process it and place any necessary purchase orders with our suppliers. If the items are already in stock you will be contacted to inform you that your order is ready to collect. If they are out of stock we will place an order with our supplier and notify you as soon as it comes in to our warehouse.

When collecting please bear in mind the size and weight of your order compared to that of your vehicle and ensure you will have adequate space to safely transport the product. Our transport team will be able to help you load your vehicle at Bell but you will need sufficient man-power to unload it at home. The address for collection is:

We hope that you are delighted with your purchase from Bell. However, if you would like to return any items or your purchase is unsuitable* , we are happy to provide a refund or exchange assuming that the goods are in a perfect and saleable condition with original product packaging and instructions where appropriate. If the goods do not reach us in a perfect and saleable condition, and in their original packaging, then your right to a full refund may be affected. To receive a refund you must return the goods to us within 28 days of delivery.

You will need to show your order confirmation as proof of purchase. Goods can also be returned directly to our warehouse with your packing slip to the address below:

If returning by post, the parcel and its contents are your responsibility until they are received at our warehouse. The cost of returning the goods is at your expense. This does not affect your statutory rights. We recommend using a registered postal service and retaining the proof of postage as we may require signed proof of delivery. Bell is not responsible for returned goods being lost or damaged in transit. If you require Bell to arrange a collection then a charge will be incurred for each consignment. *Restrictions – we are unable to offer a refund or exchange on, food items, toiletries, cosmetics and bespoke items.

Damaged / Faulty / Missing Goods:

Please check your purchase as soon as it is delivered and, in the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please email or call 01604 777504 immediately. We will then arrange collection of the goods and organise a replacement to be sent out to you at the earliest opportunity. Customers must notify the Company within 3 days of any damage, defect, shortage or discrepancy between the goods ordered and the goods delivered. We can not guarantee to replace or repair items which have been signed for in good condition or ‘unchecked’ and are later found to be damaged.
